The Education Outreach Department's primary objective is to develop and support outreach and education initiatives that promote the development of critical thinking skills. HRI will assist and compliment similar outreach initiatives established by local and regional outreach programs. HRI believes it is imperative that citizens are environmentally aware, both inland and on the coast, because we all are stakeholders when it comes to the resources that emerge from the Gulf of Mexico.
